About the Awards
Chelsea, a nonprofit literary magazine founded in 1958 and appearing twice a year, awards two annual prizes of $1000, for the best work of short fiction and for the best group of poems selected by the editors in anonymous competition. Winning entries are published in Chelsea and all work entered is considered for publication. The magazine has been funded in part by the NEA and NYSCA, as well as individuals and private foundations.
